Cirque Bijou is one of the UK’s leading contemporary circus producers. Working across the UK and internationally, they perform indoor human pyrotechnic shows, outdoor spectacle, and incorporate street dance, circus, pyrotechnics, and street theatre into their work. The company has produced shows in the Albert Hall, in Royal Palaces, and in countries ranging from Lebanon and Singapore to Mexico. They have recently toured with Take That, Muse and Mika, as well as a big top tour that included the London South Bank. THEATRE IS… a producer, a commissioner and a curator of theatre for, with and by young people. By researching and developing new approaches to theatre, they are empowering young people to become the cultural leaders and creative entrepreneurs of the future. Examples of their current projects include: it’s our theatre a new approach to participatory theatre that enables young people to lead and produce their own cultural events; Apple Cart a project being developed in partnership with Oily Cart and Apples & Snakes that is creating new work for the very young and people with profound and multiple learning disabilities and the forthcoming The Juba Fusion a new production that continues their exploration of ways to engage young people by fusing spoken word, dance, live music and theatre.
